How PokedexWiki works

Editorial policy

This policy separates automatically refreshed database values from human-reviewed editorial claims and sets the minimum standard for publication.

Last materially reviewed:

Database data versus editorial content

Card names, set membership, release records, variations, and marketplace prices are structured data. Explanations, collecting advice, market outlooks, historical claims, and recommendations are editorial content. A data refresh does not mean surrounding prose was reviewed.

Publication gate

New indexable editorial material must have:

  • a clear purpose that adds value beyond rearranging database rows;
  • traceable sources for factual claims;
  • an identifiable, accountable human reviewer;
  • a completed accuracy and link check; and
  • a genuine content-review date that is separate from price-feed updates.

Programmatically generated pages remain non-indexable until they pass the same gate. Volume, keyword coverage, and a completed automated job are not substitutes for review.

Sources

Official Pokémon announcements and set materials are preferred for release and product facts. Marketplace data is identified as such and follows the pricing methodology. Secondary sources must be relevant, attributable, and checked against a primary source when one is available.

Bylines and expertise

A personal byline may be used only for a real contributor who authored or substantively reviewed the material and can be held accountable for it. Automation is attributed to the PokedexWiki data process, not presented as a human expert. Personal experience or professional expertise is never implied unless it can be verified.

Freshness

Price-feed timestamps, data-ingestion timestamps, original publication dates, and human review dates are distinct. PokedexWiki does not relabel an old article as newly reviewed merely because a price changed. A visible review date changes only after a substantive review of the displayed content.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate links are disclosed near relevant content and in the site footer. Commercial relationships do not permit a product, card, or marketplace to bypass the sourcing and review rules above.

Corrections

Substantive errors should be reported through the corrections process. Confirmed errors are corrected in the database or page template appropriate to their source; a price-feed change alone is not described as an editorial correction.
